Celebrating Kevin Jones – PMP Certified!

GenTech is proud to congratulate Kevin Jones on officially earning his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, an outstanding achievement that reflects his dedication to both professional excellence and personal growth.

The PMP is a gold standard certification that sets the example for project management expertise, and Kevin has long set his sights on it as the next step in his career. As Kevin shared, “This is a certification that I’ve been wanting to obtain for a while, but it requires a tremendous amount of time and effort, and the first of those is often in short supply.”

Juggling the intense study schedule alongside his responsibilities at GenTech and life with an active family made this accomplishment all the more impressive.  Kevin remained committed to balancing his responsibilities, often dedicating early mornings, late nights, and weekends to studying. “GenTech was also generous enough to allow me some time to study during the day as needed,” Kevin stated.

Throughout his preparation, Kevin gained a deeper, more holistic view of how teams, roles, and processes align to drive project success. One of his biggest takeaways? The power of servant leadership, a principle that resonates deeply with his leadership style. “The role of a servant leader is to be a support system for your team,” he noted, “to remove obstacles from their paths, make it easier for them to do their job, rather than just ‘keep them in line.’ That’s something I’ve always strived for but hope to do even better moving forward.”
